Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) results for 2019 were released last week on Thursday August 6, 2020.

There was a decrease in current smoking from 15.8% in 2018 to 14.8% in 2019, while daily smoking decreased from 10.9% in 2018 to 10.0% in 2019.  These are the lowest smoking prevalence rates ever recorded by CCHS.

Current smoking in 2019 was 17.3% among males and 12.3% among females.

Daily smoking in 2019 was 11.5% among males and 8.4% among females.
